Non-Operative Treatment

Businesswomen with a headacheOur physicians utilize a combination of safe, effective and advanced treatment techniques which will enable you to return to a more productive lifestyle as quickly as possible. Our doctors will perform a physical examination focusing on correctable biomechanical abnormalities such as flexibility and strength deficits. We then customize a comprehensive rehabilitation program with therapy and medication for you. At AOSMI, we coordinate patient care with such conservative treatments such as:

  • Physical Therapy
  • Occupational Therapy
  • Speech Therapy
  • Rehabilitation
  • Medical Acupuncture
  • Medication

Interventional Treatments

pain-management-freehold-njOften, with early evaluation and care, the need for more aggressive treatment can be prevented. However, if you don’t respond to conservative therapy, AOSMI will use targeted spinal injections to diagnose and treat your pain. While not technically surgical procedures, the following forms of treatment are slightly more invasive than non-operative treatments:

  • Myofascial injection
  • Bursa, joint and nerve injections
  • Spinal injections, such as epidural steroid injections, facet or medial branch blocks and radiofrequency ablations
  • Electromyography procedure to aid accurate diagnosis
  • Neurostimulation therapy - mild electrical impulses to block pain signals to your brain

These procedures are safe and performed at our onsite, state of the art, fluoroscopy suite.  For many procedures, there‘s no prolonged recovery period, and results can occur within days of your procedure. Since these procedures are not surgical, there’s no wound to heal and no scars afterward.
