Nadine and Dr. Michael J. Greller, MD, CPE, FAAOS discuss her recent shoulder injury and arthroscopic procedure.
Dr. Michael Greller is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon, fellowship trained in sports medicine and President of Advanced Orthopedics and Sports Medicine Institute and is Chief of Staff at CentraState Medical Center.
Wayne talks about his experience with reverse total shoulder replacement surgery. His surgery was performed by Dr. Alan Nasar of Advanced Orthopedics and Sports Medicine Institute (AOSMI) in Freehold, NJ. Wayne worked with physical therapy and achieved excellent motion and function as seen 5 weeks after his surgery.
“I was in a Bicycle crash on Monday July 4th, 2011 in Switzerland, and fractured my clavicle. I called AOSMI, from Switzerland to request treatment by Dr. Goldberger. Dr. Goldberger reviewed my X-rays electronically. I underwent surgery, in New Jersey on July 6th. The surgery went extremely well. Dr. Goldberger is the best surgeon. My recovery was fantastic. I was able to resume basic training in 5 days, within 3 weeks resumed my running, by week 4 I was back swimming, and by 8 weeks I competed in a race.
The physicians at AOSMI all share the same objective for all patients, which is the passion for helping people get back to their active lives. This is pretty special, and of particular importance to athletes.”

16 year old Riley Shea is all about “boarding”. He loves extreme sports including skateboarding, snow-boarding andsurfing. Earlier this year he was skateboarding and fell on his left shoulder. In a considerable amount of pain, Riley and his parents saw Dr. Gregg Berkowitz in the ER. He was diagnosed with a fracture of the humerus requiring surgery. Riley has recovered and is back hitting the waves! He states Dr. Berkowitz is a really “Cool guy”!
“We felt very confident with Dr. Berkowitz. He explained everything that would be done in surgery. He reassured us that Riley would not have any permanent damage.”
Dear Dr. Greller & Staff,
I would like to thank you and Dr. Goldberger for doing shoulder surgery on me December 10, 2010. I had a complete rupture of my left shoulder and a torn ligament. The operation was a success and helped restore my shoulder back to a high level. Without you and Dr. Goldberger I’m not sure what my athletic ability and health would be today. I would also like to commend your outstanding rehabilitation clinic and caring staff. They were always very professional and knowledgeable. It was a slow process but they always encouraged me to do better and work harder. In the summer of 2011 I was able to travel to the USA National Master’s Track and Field Championships in Ohio. I won the 2000 meter steeplechase for the 2nd year in a row.
Thank you for your outstanding work! Happy to report that my shoulder is doing quite well and I owe a lot of it to you!
I am very thankful to you and everyone that worked on my surgery and during my time in the office. You all made a difficult time in my life a little better. Thanks again!
