In the spirit of collaboration and in recognition of a singular talent, Advanced Orthopedics and Sports Medicine Institute is proud to welcome Dr. Jessica Arias Garau, MD, to the practice. A double board certified physician in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation as well as Interventional Pain Management, Dr. Arias specializes in performing spinal and peripheral nerve injections. Among these procedures are epidural, facet, temporomandibular and other fluoroscopic and ultrasound-guided injections, as well as radiofrequency ablations, sympathetic blocks, and spinal cord stimulation.
Dr. Arias shares her experience through regular articles as well as clinical instruction: she has given educational lectures to residents and fellows at Temple University Mid-Atlantic Spine and Pain Program. Committed to minimizing pain and restoring function to provide a better quality of life for her patients, Dr. Arias brings a new perspective and a history of success to our practice at AOSMI. We are proud to announce that Dr. Paul Joseph Chubb, D.O. will be joining AOSMI as a hand, wrist, and elbow specialist . Dr. Chubb specializes in treating problems from the shoulder to the hand in both adults and children, including newborns. Throughout his noteworthy career in medicine, he has had extensive experience in traumatic and reconstructive elbow surgery. Dr. Chubb continues to refine his expertise in this specialty, as it is among his major professional interests.
In addition to adult and pediatric hand, wrist, and elbow surgery, Dr. Chubb specializes in carpal tunnel syndrome, arthritis of the hand and wrist, and congenital deformities, among other conditions. Anthony Schioppo has lived his whole life in Staten Island. He’s a New Yorker through and through. The idea that he would go to New Jersey rather than Manhattan for medical care is something he says he “never, ever, ever” would have considered six years ago.
That was before he met Alan S. Nasar, MD, medical director of the Total Joint Center of New Jersey at CentraState Medical Center.
Anthony was so pleased with the care he received during his total right knee replacement in March 2008 that his wife, Dorothy, turned to Dr. Nasar for a double knee replacement seven months later. During the next four years, Anthony had his left hip and left knee replaced with Dr. Nasar. And in April 2013, his younger brother, Stephen, became the third member of the family to have a knee replaced at CentraState …
