Samera Ahmed, OTR/L, CHT, is an occupational therapist and Certified Hand Therapist (CHT) at Advanced Orthopedics & Sports Medicine Institute (AOSMI). She has experience treating patients with hand, wrist, and elbow injuries and conditions. Her background includes specialized hand therapy in orthopedic practices and hospital settings, where she has worked closely with orthopedic hand surgeons to support nonsurgical care and rehabilitation following surgery.

Samera treats a range of upper-extremity conditions, including fractures, tendon injuries, nerve injuries, and arthritis-related concerns. She has experience creating custom splints, also called orthoses, to support healing, protect injured areas, and improve everyday function. Her approach incorporates individualized rehabilitation exercises and hands-on techniques to help patients work toward greater strength, mobility, and independence. Her work emphasizes the importance of everyday hand and arm function, particularly how movement, strength, and coordination contribute to activities at home, at work, and throughout daily life.

She earned both her Bachelor of Science and Master of Science in Occupational Therapy from York College of the City University of New York (CUNY). In addition to her hand therapy background, Samera has worked in skilled nursing and rehabilitation settings, bringing a broad understanding of patients’ functional needs to her care. She is fluent in English and Bengali.
