Common Massage Therapy Treatments
At AOSMI, we treat a wide variety of conditions through alternative medical care and massage therapy treatments including:
Swedish Massage
Swedish massage is perhaps the most recognized type of physical therapy and massage therapy treatments. This relaxation technique combines lotion or oils with long massage strokes to stimulate blood circulation, in addition to alleviating fatigue and stress, relieving muscle tension, and improved range of motion. This type of massage can also reduce the recovery time from muscle injuries by speeding up the removal of metabolic waste and toxins.
Pre-or Post-Therapy Massage
This 15-minute massage is geared toward relieving tension and loosening your muscles to prepare you for your physical therapy appointment or to help alleviate any muscles worked during your session.
Deep Tissue Massage
Deep tissue massage is designed to help alleviate constant tension in the body through slow, controlled strokes and deep pressure into the muscle and connective tissue. This form of massage generally focuses on more specific areas of the body and may cause some soreness during or after the treatment. Deep tissue massage is very beneficial for those who are involved in intense physical activity and patients who have incurred physical injury.
