Scott Hanwacker, PA-C

Physician Assistant

PA. Hanwacker is a board-certified physician assistant with over two decades of experience in orthopedic care. Since 2009, he has been a key member of the clinical team at Advanced Orthopedics and Sports Medicine Institute (AOSMI), where he evaluates and treats patients with a wide range of musculoskeletal conditions in a high-volume, multi-physician private practice.

PA. Hanwacker brings deep experience in managing both acute and chronic orthopedic issues, with a strong background in surgical assistance, trauma care, outpatient treatment, and post-operative management. His prior experience includes working in a Level One Trauma Center, where he assisted in complex orthopedic surgeries, managed large caseloads of inpatients and outpatients, and played an active role in length-of-stay rounds and multidisciplinary care coordination.

He holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the College of Staten Island and earned his Physician Assistant diploma from the Sisters of Charity Health Care System’s Bayley Seton Campus. He maintains active licensure in New Jersey and is certified through the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).

Throughout his career, PA. Hanwacker has contributed to orthopedic education as a preceptor for medical and PA students and has participated in clinical committees, including pain management initiatives.
