Peter Sanzio

Director of Therapy

Peter Sanzio is a licensed physical therapist and clinical director with more than two decades of experience in rehabilitation, performance training, and practice management. With a career spanning clinical, entrepreneurial, and innovative technological environments, Pt. Sanzio brings expertise in both patient care and operational leadership.

Pt. Sanzio currently serves as the Clinical Director at Advanced Orthopedics and Sports Medicine Institute Physical Therapy Department in Freehold, NJ, where he oversees multiple physical therapy clinics in Freehold, Monroe, Belmar and Manalapan managing a team of over 15 clinicians and staff.

In addition to his clinical work, Pt. Sanzio has held executive roles in medical device innovation, marketing, and technology. He has served as a Clinical Applications Specialist, educator, and  guest lecturer at institutions such as the New Jersey Institute of Technology and the College of Staten Island

Peter achieved the rank of corporal in the U.S. Marine Corps, where he served in Operation Desert Storm. Upon his return from deployment, he was his platoon’s Physical Fitness Non-Commissioned Officer, a role that sparked his lifelong dedication to movement, strength, and service.

He holds a BS/MS in Physical Therapy from the College of Staten Island, CUNY, and has earned several specialized certifications, including Titleist Performance Institute Level 1, SFMA Level 1, and Certified Corporate Fitness Trainer.

Pt. Sanzio’s passion for innovation is further demonstrated by his involvement with  multiple patents and research with his colleagues from the field of Biomedical engineering. Whether leading teams, guiding patients, or assisting in the development of next-generation rehabilitation tools, Pt. Sanzio brings a combination of compassion, strategy, and scientific rigor to every endeavor.
