Medical Assistant

Advanced Orthopedics and Sports Medicine Institute (AOSMI) is looking for full and part-time medical assistants to join our team that are to assist our physicians with patients. The medical assistant’s primary responsibilities are patient assessment, vitals and medical history. AOSMI offers full time positions a competitive compensation commensurate with experience, medical insurance, PTO, Long Term Disability, profit sharing plan, cash balance plan and 401(k) with employer contribution. Minimum Education, Experience (including certifications), Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Must possess a high school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Certificate from accredited school for Medical Assistants preferred.
  • Must possess understanding of all medical terminology including, but not limited to medications, surgical procedures and diseases.

Orthopedic experience is preferred. Medical Biller

Advanced Orthopedics and Sports Medicine Institute (AOSMI) is looking for experienced medical billers to follow-up on accounts, insurance verification and posts/corrects payments and adjustments. Minimum Education, Experience (including certifications), Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Must possess a high school diploma or GED equivalent
  • 2-3 years of medical billing experience
  • Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel) and practice management systems

The Physical Therapist’s primary responsibilities are providing physical therapy in our sports medicine rehabilitative and general orthopedic patient population. The PTA’s primary responsibilities are assisting in our sports medicine rehabilitative program with our physical therapist providing customized care in a hands on approach. Patient Care Coordinator

The Patient Care Coordinator is responsible for obtaining and collecting all necessary information from the patient to schedule and register them for an appointment as well as managing patient needs. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, scheduling outpatients in accordance with AOSMI guidelines, prioritizing patients according to their needs, responding to patient/customer inquiries, manage a high volume of inbound calls with varying degrees of questions or concerns, research required information using accessible resources, direct inbound calls to appropriate resources, timely and accurate communication with the surgeons and physicians regarding status of patient care, and clearly communicating all necessary instructions to patients regarding the physician’s plan of care, including pre and post-surgery instructions.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • At least 5 years relevant experience in a fast paced medical office
  • Strong working knowledge of medical and insurance terminology
  • Strong computer skills, experience with medical software preferred
  • Positive, customer-focused approach, with commitment to providing excellent patient care.
  • Proven ability to work efficiently in a team environment.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Exceptional organization skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, written and communication skills and strong personal initiative and demonstrated ability to take ownership of work results

 

Front Desk Associate (Part Time)

The front desk associate is responsible for greeting visitors and directing them appropriately, notifying personnel of patient arrival, answering or referring inquiries, maintain knowledge of both check in and checkout procedures; ensures all personal information is correct each patient’s visit; ensures updated patient insurance is on file, responsible for posting charges at check out and ensuring all charges and payments entered are balanced at the end of each shift.

Minimum Education, Experience (including licensure), Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Experience in medical office setting preferred.
  • Must possess exceptional organizational skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
